Experience, Empathy, and Efficiency

– with an eye on the bigger picture

As a veterinary surgeon with over 20 years of international experience — and expertise in financial business management, marketing, and team leadership — I know that the success of a practice depends on more than clinical skill alone. Communication, organisation, and a strong team are equally important — yet in the hectic day-to-day of clinical life, they often fall by the wayside.

My Mission

Throughout my career as a vet, I have experienced many truly rewarding moments— but I have also weathered crises and navigated difficult phases. Today, I wish to share the insights gained from those experiences — to help my colleagues make their working lives a little easier and to offer fresh perspectives.

Our profession is wonderful, but it has its challenges too. The good news is that many of the more difficult aspects become far more manageable with the right approach. I am here to guide you through them — with practical strategies, fresh perspectives, and the understanding of a colleague who has been there herself.

The Early Days

Between heart-racing moments and heartfelt passion

After completing my studies and dissertation at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, I began my career at a clinic in Lower Austria. I quickly learnt that night shifts and a racing pulse often go hand in hand — but also that this profession is pure passion.

First international steps: Walsall, England

Before long, I was drawn to England — to a practice in Walsall, Birmingham. It soon became clear that school English and a genuine local dialect have about as much in common as a cat and a goldfish. That experience is part of why I now teach practical veterinary English to non-native speakers — so that others don’t have to go through the same “lost in translation” moments.

Clinic Management in London

My path eventually led me to London. I managed several clinics, built teams, opened new branches, and came to realise: good client relationships are almost as important as making the right diagnosis.

It was here that I developed my passion for client satisfaction, complaint management, and team leadership — topics I now deliver workshops on with great enthusiasm, because I know first-hand how much they can ease the daily grind.

Of course, things didn’t always go smoothly. Complaints, challenging clinic takeovers, and stressful moments were all part of it. But it was precisely from these experiences that I learnt how to turn difficult situations into valuable lessons.

Experience Meets Understanding

From the operating table to strategy

After 23 years in the UK, countless four-legged patients, a handful of dialects, and a great deal of tea, I eventually returned to Austria, where I took on the management of a clinic. But at some point, my back and knees made themselves very clearly heard: “Less operating table, more desk work” — and I listened.

Today, my goal is to share my experience so that my colleagues’ daily practice runs more smoothly and their passion for the profession thrives.

I support vets and clinic owners in building more efficient, manageable, and fulfilling working lives — with a wealth of experience, genuine understanding, and the humour that gets us through even the most hectic days.
